CIEH Level 1 Award in Health and Safety in the Workplace

Entry Requirements
This is no prior qualifications required. However It’s a legal requirement for employers to provide health and safety training to their staff.

The CIEH Level 1 Award in Health and Safety in the Workplace provides a quick, concise and practical starting point from which more detailed training.

Course Content   
The level 1 Certificate is designed to make candidates aware of the key health and safety issues and the part that they should play in keeping themselves and others free from harm in the workplace.

The main objectives of the course are:

  • Understand the importance of health and safety in the workplace
  • Identify the hazards and risks related in the workplace
  • Understand workplace health and safety procedures

Suitability
The qualification has been designed to meet the needs of those who are entering the workplace for the first time, either as part of a work experience programme or at the start of employment, by providing an awareness of key health and safety issues and the part that they should play in keeping themselves and others free from harm at work. It will also benefit those who are starting a new job – as part of an induction programme.

The Course is also Ideal for schools – for young people embarking either on work experience or their first job.

Structure   
This ground breaking qualification is set to change the way companies consider health and safety. This half day qualification acts as a punchy outline of the basics of health and safety that will protect both the candidate and their fellow workers in all areas of employment focusing on:

  • The importance of health and safety in the workplace
  • Hazards and risks
  • Workplace conditions
  • Workplace procedures

Assessment
The Level 1 Certificate is knowledge-based and will be assessed by means of an external assessment. Each unit is assessed by means of a 15 question, multi-choice examination.

Half day programme

Course Costs
Course Fee from £45.00 per candidate. This includes: Examination fee, registration fee and a beginners guide to health and safety workbook.

1-5 candidates £350 (+VAT)
6-10 candidates £500 (+VAT)
11-15 candidates £650 (+VAT)
